Fire Prevention

The best defence against fire is to ensure that a fire never starts or takes hold in the first place. To facilitate prevention of fires, we provide advice, services and products to client’s, including advice on fire loads and building design as well as provision of solutions that provide early warnings and notification of fire initiation. We provide ongoing inspection, maintenance and defects rectification to ensure the fire prevention systems will operate every time they are needed.

Fire Detection Systems

AFI can supply and incorporate into designs the many different types of technologies dedicated to early detection of fire sources, including infra-red detection, aspirating smoke detectors (e.g. VESDA’s), thermal detection. Once detected, it’s important to initiate a response to ensure the risk to assets and people are eliminated, and AFI can provide response advice and provision of Evacuation Plans, and installation and programming of warning beacons, that meet the requirements of the Australian Standards.

Fire Monitoring Networks

We design, program, install and commission complex fire monitoring networks across extensive mine sites utilising the technology of all major fire panel providers. We can develop and provide solutions for integration of new technologies or fire panel types, into existing systems providing a cost-effective way of integrating up to date systems into existing systems that would otherwise be approaching obsolescence.

Fire Prevention System Maintenance

Our certified electrical technicians conduct all servicing and testing to ensure your system will activate and notify on-demand and remain compliant with AS1851, and the owner requirements. We can barcode, geo-track and status track your assets in our operations management system to ensure they are kept in compliance, and defects are tracked and rectified.
